This is one of three paintings on the easel this week. I am working from several photos that were taken while we lived in New Hampshire. This is a field and a barn not far from where we lived that I walked past everyday. I am using a wash technique - layer upon layer of color building up to create my light source and shadow areas. I am painting on 300lb Arches which is a half sheet - 14"x21".
If you go to my other site:
http://simplypainting.blogspot.com you will be able to see this painting completed. I am very excited about this one because I feel I have done a lot of learning and growing through this painting. Beginning to feel as tough a light direction is the key to helping my paintings feel less flat, as well as less pasty.
Thanks for looking!
