Wow, spent a whole day in the studio just painting. Finished another river painting and a figure painting. Then started a second figure painting. I have not been painting in oils - been doing watercolor for about four years. I have taken out the oils and I am really enjoying them. I guess once schooled in one method it feels like home. I am eager to continue and see what develops. It is all a part of a journey.
Delaware River
6" x 6" oil on stretched canvas.
We need to get to the root of our creative practice. Sometimes that means going home. This past weekend we went home to New Jersey, the place where Rick and I began our married life. Lambertville, NJ is a sweet town filled with amazing little galleries and shops. This painting is from a view on the bridge that crosses the Delaware River into New Hope, PA, looking down river editing out buildings and people floating in inner tubes. Just the river.
